# Insider Tips:

01 -
  • It captures the exact essence of red velvet cake without turning on your oven or dirtying a mixer
  • The cream cheese element makes it unexpectedly velvety, not just another sweet martini
  • These come together in literally five minutes but look like you hired a bartender
02 -
  • The cream cheese needs to be genuinely soft or you'll end up with tiny lumps floating in your beautiful drink
  • Shaking longer than you think necessary is what transforms this from a mixed drink into something that feels like a dessert
03 -
  • Strain through a fine mesh sieve if you're paranoid about any cream cheese lumps
  • Clear crème de cacao keeps the color vibrant while dark gives it a more intense chocolate depth
