# What You Need:

→ Meats

01 - 1 pound ground beef

→ Seasonings

02 - 1 packet taco seasoning (about 1 ounce)
03 - 1/4 cup water

→ Vegetables

04 - 1 head romaine lettuce, chopped
05 - 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
06 - 1/2 cup red onion, diced
07 - 1 cup canned black beans, drained and rinsed
08 - 1 cup canned corn, drained

→ Cheese

09 - 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

→ Chips

10 - 2 cups Nacho Cheese Doritos, slightly crushed

→ Dressing

11 - 1/2 cup ranch dressing or Catalina dressing

# Directions:

01 - Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until fully browned, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon. Drain excess fat.
02 - Add taco seasoning and water to the browned beef. Stir well and simmer for 2–3 minutes, allowing the mixture to thicken. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
03 - In a large salad bowl, combine chopped romaine lettuce, cherry tomatoes, diced red onion, black beans, corn, and shredded cheddar cheese.
04 - Top the salad mixture with the slightly cooled taco beef.
05 - Right before serving, add the crushed Doritos chips and your choice of ranch or Catalina dressing. Toss gently to combine, ensuring even distribution of ingredients.
06 - Serve immediately while chips maintain their crisp texture.

# Insider Tips:

01 -
  • It feels like you’re bending the rules in the best way—chips for dinner never tasted so right.
  • This salad satisfies every craving for something fresh, cheesy, and fun, all in one crunchy bite.
02 -
  • Wait until the last second to add the Doritos or you’ll lose the crunch that makes everyone’s eyes light up.
  • Mixing the beef in while still steaming hot can wilt the lettuce, so let it cool for a few minutes first.
03 -
  • Layer dressing under rather than over the chips to prevent sogginess if you want to linger at the table.
  • For a burst of extra tang, add a spoonful of salsa or pickled jalapenos to your own plate.
